If you have been disqualified from driving, usually following a conviction for dangerous driving offences, the court can order that you take your driving test again. This will involve you retaking your theory test, and taking an extended driving test. The test is longer than the usual test, usually around 70 minutes, and covers a wide range of roads including dual carriageways.

Once the period of disqualification has expired, you must apply for your provisional licence again and you will be subject to the usual learner driver conditions, ie you must display 'L' plates, be supervised by a qualified driver and you will not be allowed to drive on motorways. You can then begin preparing for your extended practical test. The extended test fee is currently £124.00 on weekdays, or £150.00 on Saturdays.
